Celebrating Cheryl Wall's Worrying the Line
Please join us on Wednesday, October 29th, in Murray Hall 305 from 12 noon-1:30pm for a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Cheryl A. Wall's Worrying the Line: Black Women Writers, Lineage, and Literary Tradition. (This event will also coincide with Cheryl Wall's birthday.) The celebration and critical reflection on this major text in black literary studies will include live jazz music, readings from the book from English department faculty and graduate students, as well as a catered lunch. Please RSVP using the QR code on the attached flyer by October 22. Following the Worrying the Line event, at 2pm in Murray Hall 302, the current Cheryl A. Wall postdoctoral associate, Bryant Brown, will give a talk, "Antimanifesto Poetics: Black Avant-Gardism's Queer Critique of the Manifesto Genre."
