About

Aarushi Gaikwad is a junior in the School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program at Rutgers University–New Brunswick, where she is pursuing a double major in Psychology and Political Science. Her passion for racial justice and advocacy is deeply rooted in her experiences as an immigrant and growing up in a community of immigrants, where stories of resilience and struggle shaped her perspective. Her main interest lies in advocating and providing representation for other Indian-American and Hindu diasporas. Aarushi currently serves as the Strategic Planning Lead for OverRide, a student-led organization that advocates for improvements to the university’s bus system. Looking ahead, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in global policy followed by law school, with the goal of building a career as an attorney focused on crafting legal frameworks that promote justice and equality.
