A'Dreana Williams

About
A’Dreana is a Black, queer, gender-expansive artist and community organizer. Proudly hailing from Jersey City, she beautifully interweaves her ancestral stories with her ideas of a Black Future. Moving fluidly through mediums, she’s a writer-painter-rapper-filmmaker-collagist-actor-photographer who tells stories of Black elders, children, queer-trans folk, and other Black identities often forgotten.
Currently studying Black American Literature at Rutgers-NB, they’re simultaneously furthering their historical basis and their literary arsenal through Black books. As the president and a founder of Black Students for Liberation she works tirelessly to ensure the political consciousness, emotional wellbeing, and communal unity amongst Rutgers students and surrounding communities. Actively working towards the liberation of all people, including Palestine, the Congo, Sudan, and Black America.
One of their aspirations while at Rutgers is bridging the gap between inner-city Jersey high school students and higher education, specifically Rutgers.
A’Dreana’s life work is empowering people and organizing community resistance to the oppressive structures that be, through education, art, and radical love.
