Please join the Rutgers Advanced Institute for Critical Caribbean Studies (RAICCS) and CLAS' Interdisciplinary Caribbean Working Group NEXT WEEK Monday December 5th at 4:30 pm for a book talk by Dr. Yomaira Figueroa-Vàsquez, followed by the RAICCS annual holiday reception! Dr. Figueroa-Vásquez will be interviewed virtually by Ph.D. student Ariana Costales del Toro. Together, they will discuss her award-winning book Decolonizing Diasporas: Radical Mappings of Afro-Atlantic Literature which maps literature from Spanish-speaking sub-Saharan African and Afro-Latinx Caribbean diasporas to offer new worldviews that unsettle and dismantle the logics of colonial modernity. Join us after the talk for yummy food and drinks! RSVP HERE (Zoom attendance is available for the book talk portion of the event).
