Raizel Febles

About
Raizel Febles is a proud first-generation college student of Dominican descent in her second year at Rutgers-Camden College of Arts and Sciences, where she is pursuing a double major in Political Science and Spanish on a pre-law track. As a Bonner Civic Scholar, Raizel is dedicated to completing 300 hours of annual community service in Camden, currently serving as a legal translator for the Rutgers-Camden Clinical Program. In this role, she assists in translating legal documents and interpreting for clients and attorneys. In addition to her academic and civic commitments, Raizel is the treasurer of the Latin American Student Organization (L.A.S.O.), where she plays a key role in securing financial resources for initiatives that uplift the Latino community on campus. Her passion for combating period poverty began at the age of 13 when she co-launched a podcast to raise awareness about the issue in the South Bronx, particularly within Black and Latinx communities. Today, she continues her advocacy as the outreach officer for Caring for Camden, where she builds partnerships with organizations and corporations to secure donations of menstrual and hygiene products for those in need in the community.
